Dryer Vents

Why should you clean your dryer Vent?

  1. Fire Hazard: The accumulation of lint in your dryer vent can be a serious fire hazard. According to the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), between 2010 and 2014, U.S. fire departments responded to an estimated 15,970 home fires involving clothes dryers or washing machines each year, resulting in an average of 13 deaths, 440 injuries, and $238 million in property damage annually.

  2. Energy Efficiency: A clogged dryer vent can reduce the efficiency of your dryer, causing it to use more energy and take longer to dry your clothes. According to the U.S. Department of Energy, a clogged dryer vent can increase the drying time by 30 percent, which can increase your energy bill and shorten the lifespan of your dryer.

  3. Improved Air Quality: A clean dryer vent can improve the air quality in your home by reducing the amount of dust, allergens, and pollutants that are circulated through the air. This is particularly important for individuals with allergies or respiratory issues.
